Departure for the Athens Sightseeing Tour, early in the morning ( pick up from your Athens central hotel or the terminal ). We stop for photos at Panathinaiko Stadium where the 1st Olympic Games took place in 1896. The stadium is built out of white marble. We continue our tour, passing by Zappeion, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Athens Trilogy including 3 very important buildings: the University of Athens, the Academy of Athens and the National Library of Greece. Then, we pass by National Garden, Hadrian’s Arc, St. Paul’s church, Parliament, the Tomb of Unknown Soldier, the Numismatic museum ( ex Schliemann’s house ), Catholic Cathedral, Old Parliament, Syntagma Square, Russian Orthodox church and we arrive at Acropolis. At Acropolis of Athens we’ll visit Propylae (gateway), Temple of Athens Nike, Parthenon, Erectheion with its Porch of Maidens.
We continue our guided Athens Sightseeing and Acropolis Museum tour, with our visit to the famous Acropolis Museum that we’ll impress us. We’ll see statues from the archaic period of Athens, Caryatids, votives, artifacts of every day life and the Parthenon hall with the metopes and the pediments.
