GENERAL  TERMS  AND  CONDITIONS

We present here below the conditions of bookings made through KANINGOS TOURS. Since they are a contract between the client and our travel agency we encourage you to read them carefully. Booking a service provided by KANINGOS TOURS you agree to be legally bound by the following terms & conditions :

Hotels
Hotel categories are rated by  the Greek National Tourism Organisation. In the event of non-availability of a specified hotel a  similar category hotel, may be used, following guest’s consent.

Tours & Sightseeing
Mainland Tours/Excursions (organized or private) include air-conditioned motor coaches and are guided by professionally licensed English speaking Tour guides. We reserve the right to cancel any tours due to lack of demand and also to use vehicles as dictated by demand. We also reserve the right to alter at any time any price, place visited, itinerary or hotel owing to unforeseen circumstances. Every endeavor will be made to advise passengers in advance of any alterations which are deemed necessary. In the event of any passenger not being carried for any cause , no liability will be accepted by the operators beyond the refund of the fares. Should the passenger fail to arrive or arrive late at the starting point or during the tour, then no liability can be entertained.

Cruises
Cruise Companies maintain the right to make changes on all cruise itineraries, rates and ships are subject to change by each cruise company without prior notice

Domestic Ferry Schedules
Schedules of inter-island routes maybe changed without notice overnight by companies.
The length of stay in each island may also be disturbed. Some crossings start early in the morning so breakfast cannot be provided at the hotel. If a sea crossing is cancelled due to weather conditions, strikes or unexpected change in operation extra days will be required prior to departure. The local correspondent might cancel this crossing and it will be replaced by a domestic flight or another type of boat (hydrofoil or sea-jet for example) with an extra charge.

Prices
All  rates posted  by KANINGOS TOURS  are subject to change, which may be attributed to increases imposed by hotels / tours / cruise operators, currency fluctuation and/or fuel surcharges.

Not Included in the Tour Prices
International Airfares (unless indicated), passport and visa fees, phone calls, beverages, meals not indicated in the itinerary, all gratuities of any kind (which are at your discretion), items of a personal nature, excess baggage and baggage handling, optional tours and shore excursions.
*According to the new legislation of the Greek Government,  a stayover hotel tax will be applied that is not included in the package prices. This tax is to be paid directly by the guests to each hotel.

Cancellations by KANINGOS TOURS  or it’s suppliers
We reserve the right to cancel any of the services, without any penalties beyond offering a full refund.

Lost property
Whilst every effort is made to return lost property, KANINGOS TOURS cannot be held responsible for property left on the coach, ferries, airplanes etc.

Personal insurance
Personal insurance is not included. Please discuss this with your Insurance broker.

Changes/Revisions/ Amendments
Once deposit payment has been received, a change Fee  will be imposed for any change / revision/ amendment  thereafter.

Deposits
According to the policy of  KANINGOS TOURS  a 50% deposit is required to secure the reservation and the balance at the latest 30 days prior to arrival. For bookings received less than 30 days prior to arrival full payment is required to secure the reservation.For reservations, which include hotels requiring full prepayment at the time of booking, a different policy applies. Upon confirmation  will inform you accordingly for the payment and cancellation policy of your reservation.

Cancellations
 Except otherwise stated, Tour or package or any product cancelled are subjected to a cancellation fee according to the following scale :

  1. Short Tours: for full day tours ,full day cruise and half-day tours ,a refund will be made up to 30 calendar days prior to tour departure date and time. Cancellation within 30 calendar days before the services begin you will be charged a 100% cancellation fee (no refund).
  2. Multiday tours: once booked, cancellations 100% apply  for those cancelled prior to tour departure date and time.
  3. Private tours & Shore excursions as well as  Special request / Private tours /Attractions/products including train or flight ticket and/or overnight accommodation :
    – Cancellation more than 30 calendar days before the services begin , you will be charged 50% cancellation fee.
    – Cancellation between 30 to 16 calendar days before services begin : You will be charged 75% cancellation fee.
    – Cancellation between 15 to the day of the services or after : You will be charged a 100% cancellation fee (no refund).
  4. Packages and tailor made packages : Due to the different products and services that they are involved: Cancellation between the day of reservation and the day of travel : You will be charged a 100% cancellation fee (no refund).

Inability of execution due to “Force Majeure”
In the event of force majeure circumstances arising in your travel destination, be it political upheavals (war, governmental lockdown) or natural disasters (pandemic, catastrophic earthquakes or floods, volcano eruption), which cause inability to provide the agreed upon services, then the above standard cancelation policy or non-refundable cancelation policy is not applicable. In case that you have booked a vacation package (hotel accommodation, transfers and domestic flight or ferry tickets) a flat cancelation fee of 150 euro per person is applied. Please note that this is the minimum cancelation fee, which applies only as long as other providers of the services included in your package (hotels, cruise lines, ferry companies, airlines) do not charge any additional cancellation fees, having also adjusted their respective policies to the nature of the force majeure event. If that is not the case, any additional cancelation fees will be added on top of the abovementioned 150 euro per person. In case that you have booked an individual service or product ,  a cancelation fee of 20% of the total cost of your purchased services is applied as administrative and handling fee. Please note that this is the minimum cancelation fee, which applies only as long as other providers of the services included in your package (hotels, cruise lines, ferry companies, airlines) do not charge any additional cancellation fees, having also adjusted their respective policies to the nature of the force majeure event. If that is not the case, any additional cancelation fees will be added on top of the above mentioned 20%.

Refund procedure during “Force Majeure” events
In the event of simultaneous mass cancelations during a “Force Majeure” event, emergency legislation by the official State Authorities regarding the refund procedure can be introduced. During such an event and in accordance with this temporary emergency legislation, we reserve the right to issue credit vouchers instead of immediate cash refunds.

Obligations of clients participating at organized tours
A fundamental obligation of all people participating in a group tour is to strictly comply with the schedule and the instructions given by the agency, group leaders / guides/representatives, and be punctual in the meetings for the scheduled events. If a client is not punctual, in addition to any other problems this may cause, it will give the leader the right to proceed without him and KANINGOS TOURS will refuse to pay any refund for any non-provided services. A person participating in the organised tours of KANINGOS TOURS shall be exclusively responsible to obtain and maintain all required travel documents (passport etc), and for any declaration made to the Greek or foreign monetary or custom authorities. Any reasonable complaints during the tour/package should be immediately reported to our representatives (or in the absence to our office) on the spot, and to the party providing the service, in writing. If the problem cannot be resolved on the spot, the client must file a written complaint within ten days from the day of return in case of omissions and improper performance. KANINGOS TOURS  will have the right to refuse to reply to a letter of complaint that was filed after said deadline. In case a client should decide to withdraw from the trip and leave the group or the package on his own accord, even in case of force majeure, he will not have the right to any further service or refund, and all expenses associated with his leaving the group will be borne by him.No servant or agent of ours can vary our conditions and any such purposed variation shall be of no effect unless it has been signed by one of our directors. All matters concerning this booking shall be subject to Greek Law.

 

Complaints
Should a situation require that a complaint be registered, guest is kindly requested to report this to the local representative at the time it occurred.

Responsibility
KANINGOS TOURS, hereinafter called the Tour Operator, and/or its representatives act only as agent between you and local land/tour operators, hotel, cruise and transportation companies and any other related travel company associated with the booking made through the said Tour Operator. The responsibility of the Tour Operator and/or its representatives is limited.

The Tour Operator and/or its representatives will not accept any responsibility in the event of the weather conditions, strikes, damage, loss, accident, illness, delay or other irregularity due to defects in any vehicle used for transportation, or the fault or default of any local land/tour operator, hotel, cruise and transportation companies and any other related travel company including their employees, associated with the booking made through the Tour Operator.

The Tour Operator and/or its representatives are not responsible for any consular, political, or military complications created voluntarily, or involuntarily by the passenger or by any other person, or reason.

By booking any tour, hotel, cruise, transportation, vehicle, package, flight and/or any related service, you acknowledge that in any event, the Tour Operator shall not be liable for any consequential damages, and that the sole extent of the Tour Operator’s liability shall never exceed the amount actually paid by the passenger.

Any disputes that may arise from the sale and use of said programs and/or other related services, must be negotiated and settled in the city, county and country of the booking Tour Operator. The Tour Operator reserves the right to decline acceptance of any person for a tour and to change or cancel the tours, if necessary, for any reason.

The airline tickets shall, when issued, constitute the sole contract between the passenger and the airline. The airline is not to be held responsible for any act, mission or event when the passenger is not on board of its aircraft.

Any payment received will represent your acceptance of the above stated conditions.
